Summary
The Western Australian Naturalists Club, established in 1924, is one of Australia's oldest such organisations. Membership is open to anyone interested in the natural history of Western Australia and the conservation of its flora and fauna. From the beginning excursions have been a central part of the Club's program. The Club has a number of branches and special interest groups, including for young naturalists. Since 1947 the Club has published The Western Australian naturalist. Other publication include a newsletter and a series of handbooks. The Serventy Memorial Lectures were inaugurated in 1989 to recognise the significant contributions to the Club of members of the Serventy family.
