Summary

The research work of CSIRO and its predecessor, CSIR, was organised in Divisions, Sections, Groups and Units depending on the size and/or standing of the group. National Facilities, Laboratories and Research Stations were also created to focus the use of resources in particular fields. Organisational units that transitioned from CSIR to CSIRO are designated as CSIR/O. This entry lists CSIRO Sections, Groups and Units which were either part of Divisions or became Divisions. It also included some projects that have been documented in the Encyclopedia.
