Summary

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (2017 - ) is responsible for regulation and safety across the mining, construction and building industry. Established in 2017 this department is the result of a merger between the Department of Mines and Petroleum (2009 - 2017) and some mining related functions of the Department of Commerce (2009 - 2017).
