Summary

In 1992 the Department of Mines, the Minerals and Energy Research Institute of WA, the Energy Policy and Planning Bureau and the Renewable Energy Advisory Council amalgamated to form the Department of Minerals and Energy. In 2001 the Department of Resources Development joined the Department of Minerals and Energy forming the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (2001 - 2003).
