Summary

The Department of Minerals and Petroleum Resources was created in 2001 when the Department of Resources Development [2] (1993 - 2011) and the Department of Minerals and Energy (1992 - 2001) merged. A further merger in 2003 with the Department of Industry and Technology (2001 - 2003) led to the abolition of the Department of Minerals and Petroleum Resources and the establishment of the Department of Industry and Resources (2003 - 2009).
