Summary
Nalini Joshi is a mathematician internationally recognised for her research in the study of nonlinear systems. She has developed precise definitions of elusive functions and new methodologies which have application across many fields. Nalini of Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney where she was also Director of the Centre for Mathematical Biology from 2006 to 2013. As a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science she has served on Council and chaired the National Committee for Mathematical Science. Her involvement in the wider scientific community included a term and a Member of the Commonwealth Science Council, cofounder of Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE), and President of the Australian Mathematical Society.
