Summary

The George Szekeres Medal was established by the Australian Mathematical Society in 2001. It is awarded in even numbered years to recognise outstanding contributions to mathematical sciences, including in promotion of the discipline and in leadership roles. Recipients must be members of the Society whose research has been principally conducted in Australia. The Medal was named to honour Georges Szekeres, founding Member of the Australian Mathematical Society and the Society's President from 1972 to 1974.
