Summary

In 2018 the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (2012 - 2018) also known as DEWNR was renamed the Department for Environment and Water (2018 - ). This name change is attributed by State Records South Australia to changes in ministerial portfolios and as a consequence changes in reporting lines. The functions carried out by the Department of Environment and Water (2018- ) appear to be the same as those undertaken by DEWNR. Significant organisations that sit within this department include National Parks and Wildlife SA and the Botanic Gardens of South Australia.
