Summary

The Irrigation and Reclamation Works Department (1910 - 1923) was responsible for the irrigation of South Australian land from 1910 until 1923. In 1923 it was replaced by the Irrigation and Drainage Commission (1923 - 1930) in large part due to the soldier settler scheme.
