Summary
Roy Woodall spent his entire working life with Western Mining Corporation, where he was Chief Geologist, Exporation Manager, and Director of exploration from 1967 to 2001. He is recognised as the geologist behind some of Australia's biggest mineral discoveries, and one of Australia's greatest exploration geologists. At one time he was managing and mentoring exploration teams with about 400 geoscientists. His major interests were in geology, mineral exploration and earth science research. He is commemorated by a medal named in his honour, awarded by the Australian Geoscience Council.
