Summary
The Ian Wark Medal and Lecture was established in 1987 by the Australian Academy of Science and is awarded in alternate years. It recognises "research which contributes to the prosperity of Australia where that prosperity is attained through the advancement of scientific knowledge or its application, or both". The Medal commemorates Ian Wark, a Fellow of the Academy, who was a leading figure in Australian science and industry for many years.
