Summary
A re-naming of the National Measurement Laboratory in 1979 established the Division of Applied Physics. A merger with the Division of Radio Physics, in 1996, resulted in the formation of the Division of Telecommunication and Industrial Technologies, which continued to operate into the 21st century.
