Summary
Frank de Hoog is a mathematician recognised internationally for his innovative research in applied, computational and industrial mathematics. He has contributed to the mineral processing and manufacturing industries by significantly improving the efficiency of operations in these fields. From 2003 to 2009 de Hoog was Research Director of CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics, and subsequently a CSIRO Fellow.

In 2009 de Hoog received CSIRO's Sir Ian McLennan Impact from Science and Engineering Award for innovative research into key processes in the manufacturing and mineral processing industries spanning his 30 year career at CSIRO.
