Summary
The Hannan Medal has been awarded by the Australian Academy of Science in alternate years since 1996. It recognises research carried out mainly in Australia in any of the fields of statistical science, pure mathematics, applied mathematics and computational mathematics and is made in each of these areas in turn. The Medal commemorates Edward Hannan, a Fellow of the Academy and Professor of Statistics at the Australian National University from 1971 to 1986.
