Summary

In 1974 the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife replaced the Department of Fisheries and Fauna (1964 - 1974). The new department was responsible for aquaculture and conservation and management of native Western Australian fauna and flora. The Department of Fisheries and Wildlife was dissolved in 1985 and its functions appear to have been divided between the Fisheries Department [3] (1986 - 1997) and the Department of Conservation and Land Management (1985 - 2013).
