Summary
The Gottschalk Medal has been awarded annually by the Australian Academy of Science since 1979 to recognise outstanding research in the medical sciences by researchers up to ten years since the completion of their PhD studies. It is awarded to people who are normally resident in Australia for research conducted mainly in Australia. The Medal commemorates the contributions to science of Albert Gottschalk who was a founding Fellow of the Academy.
