Physicist, CSIR Radio Research Board 1934-36, Physicist, PMG Research Laboratories 1936-47, Fred Knight Travelling Scholar 1937-38, Radar officer, RAN, 1943-46, Telecommunications officer, Commonwealth Department of Civil Aviation 1947-48, Physicist, Weapons Research Establishment, 1948-65, Director 1958-65, Secretary, Department of National Development 1965-69, Deputy Australian High Commissioner, London 1969-72. Member Australian Atomic Energy Commission 1965-70, Chairman 1972-76.
