Edward Swain was Commissioner for Forests, New South Wales 1935-1948. He had earlier worked as a research consultant for Australian Paper Manufacturers 1933-1934, was Chairman of the Queensland Forestry Board 1924-1932 and later was United Nations forestry consultant to Ethiopia 1951-1955.
