Summary
In July 2001 the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Landscape Environments and Mineral Exploration succeeded the CRC for Landscape Evolution and Mineral Exploration. One of the CRC's areas of research expertise is regolith geoscience. From their Web site, June 2002: "The Landscape Environments and Mineral Exploration group (LEME) is made up of researchers from Australian universities, CSIRO and other government laboratories, private industries and public sector agencies to develop a greater understanding of Australia's terrain when applied to mineral exploration and environmental management." The CRC has funding until 2008.
