Summary

Grenville Knight MC MCE FIEAust was Chief Designing Engineer, State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, Victoria, and in that role was responsible in 1948 for the design of the enlarged Eildon Dam, constructed on the Goulburn River, Victoria.

Earlier, he was the resident engineer for the construction of the innovative Torrumbarry Weir and Lock of the River Murray Works in 1923. This weir used 14 removable steel trestles that could be winched out of the river to allow the passage of floods.
