Summary

Lincoln Rowe, AM HonFIEAust BE, was the Director-General of the Department of Trade and Industry, South Australia and Director of State Development, and supervised the establishment of Adelaide's Technology Park, during the early 1980s.

Previously he was a Director and Chief Executive of Perry Engineering Co. Ltd., a Director of Johns & Waygood Perry Engineering Ltd., Johns & Waygood Ltd., Melbourne and Gibb and Miller Ltd. and Managing Director of Wilkins Perry Pty. Ltd.

As well as his wide industrial experience, Rowe also serviced the engineering profession as chairman of the South Australian Division, Institution of Engineers Australia; as President; and as chairman of the board of Engineers Australia Pty. Ltd. during its formative years.

His outstanding contribution to the profession and the Australian community was recognised when he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1982, and elected an Honorary Fellow in 1983.
