Summary

This theme-based entry brings together in the one place all the published bibliographies, which we have been able to locate, that relate to the history of Australian science broadly speaking. They take two forms: those that relate to a specific discipline in a defined time period; and those that deal with the history of Australian science and associated topics more generally. It also covers the landmark events in the ongoing evolution of the use of bibliography as a tool to ensure that society does not lose track of what has gone before. Of particular note, in 1981, is the initiation of a programme of publishing annual bibliographies of the history of Australian science in Historical Records of Australian Science.
