Summary
The Transactions and proceedings of the Royal Society of Victoria was published by the Society to provide a place for the publication of material related to the objects of the Society and of interest to the wider scientific community. Issues were exchanged for the publications of other societies, by which means the Society built a comprehensive library of international journals in many scientific fields. The journal ceased in 1888, being replaced with the Proceedings of the Royal Society of Victoria and the Transactions of the Royal Society of Victoria, new series.
