Summary
The Transactions of the Philosophical Society of Victoria was published by the Society to provide a place for the publication of papers on matters of practical importance to Victoria and to report on recent discoveries in the geology, botany and zoology. Only one volume was published, which included the Society's proceedings. On the amalgamation of the Society with the Victorian Institute for the Advancement of Science to form the Philosophical Institute of Victoria, the Transactions was superseded by the Transactions of the Philosophical Institute of Victoria.
