Summary
The short-lived Environment and Heritage Department (II) was created in June 1998 after the Department of Environment was re-named. The department was responsible for environmental management, protection and conservation throughout Queensland. It also held responsibilities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultural land interests. In December 1998 the Environment and Heritage (II) Department was dissolved and replaced with the Environment Protection Agency (1998 - 2009).
