Summary
Cameron Jones is recognised as being in the forefront of the emerging field of Modern Main Group Chemistry. His contributions have included discoveries in the stabilisation of low-oxidation state and metal-to-metal bonded systems. He developed novel compound types which has prompted a re-evaluation of what is achievable synthetically. In 2006 Jones became Professor of Chemistry at Monash University, later being appointed to the R. L. Martin Distinguished Chair of Chemistry.
