Summary

Michael Cowling was Professor and Head of the School of Mathematics at the University of New South Wales. Prior to this he spent several years lecturing at the University of Genoa in Italy. Cowling researches several areas of mathematics including harmonic analysis and geometry of Lie groups. He collaborates with mathematicians from many countries, including France, Switzerland, Israel, Italy, Poland and Japan and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
