Summary
H. M. Westergaard's theories of concrete (rigid pavements) was used as a basis for the methods and technology developed by the Commonwealth Department of Works & Housing after World War II to suit Australian climatic and other conditions, such as relatively dry sub-grades and low traffic densities at many airports.
