Summary

Ian Cameron, AM FTSE HonFIEAust FInstCE FASCE, was a leading consulting civil engineer specialising in roads, bridges and flood control, and was a pioneer in the introduction of pre-stressed concrete in Australia. He was a partner in the consulting engineering practice Cameron McNamara, and later Chair and Joint Managing Director, Cameron McNamara Pty Ltd; Director, Kinhill Limited and Chair, Kinhill Cameron McNamara Pty Ltd. From 1991 he was a consultant in the fields of arbitration and engineering.

In recognition of his distinguished career, he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE) in 1990; elected Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia (HonFIEAust) in 1991; and appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009.
