Details
From his AJCP M602 biographical note: "Edward Ashworth (1814-1896) was employed as an architect and surveyor in Exeter, Devon. In 1841, after years of disappointment in his profession, he was won over by accounts of the future prospects of the colonies in Australia and New Zealand. He emigrated to Port Phillip in 1842 and after a few months he moved on to Auckland. He returned to Australia in 1844 and, after a short stay in Sydney, he sailed for England via Batavia and Canton."
