Summary

Arthur Burkitt was Professor of Anatomy, University of Sydney 1925-1955. He was fluent in several languages and assisted students by translating for them.

He provided a major collection of European scientific literature which formed the basis of the Burkitt Library in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney.
