Summary

Established in 1995, the Department of Agriculture, Energy and Minerals took control of the functions previously undertaken by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy and Minerals. After a very short existence, the Department's functions were assumed by the newly created Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
