Summary

The Nancy T. Burbidge Medal has been presented by the Australian (later Australasian) Systematic Botany Society since 2001, usually annually. It recognises longstanding and significant contributions to Australasian systematic botany. In recent years the Medallist also presented the Nancy T. Burbidge Memorial Lecture, which was instituted in 1979. Nancy Burbidge, Curator of the Herbarium in the CSIRO Division of Plant Industry from 1946 to 1973, was active in the foundation of the Society.
