News - 2025-01-31, Gavan McCarthy: The 'Encyclopedia of Australian Science and Innovation' to come under the Office of the Swinburne Chief Scientist. In Janaury 2025 it was confirmed that the History of Australian Science and Innovation team (which includes the Encyclopedia and the CSIRO History Project) would be administratively located with the Office of the Swinburne Chief Scientist, Professor Virginia Kilborn. For the time being we are staying in the same offices. The next edition will note this change in all relevant places.

News - 2024-11-01, Helen Cohn: Sara Maroske joins curation team. We welcome to our team Sara Maroske, a science historian of considerable experience and a former Editor of Historical records of Australian science. She will concentrate on women graduates of Australian universities.
News - 2024-10-25, Gavan McCarthy: Centre for Transformative Innovation to close. In early October 2024, a decision was taken to disestablish at the the end of 2024 the Centre for Transformative Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology. The Centre, established in 2014, provided a highly supportive home for the Encyclopedia from the time of its transfer to Swinburne in 2021. In particular, the Centre's director, Professor Beth Webster, helped in many ways to ensure that we had what we needed to thrive. She resigned as Director in June 2024 to return to the University of Melbourne. Since that time, her replacement, Professor Tim Marjoribanks, has been equally supportive.

News - 2023-12-01, Gavan McCarthy: Helen Wolf to leave Swinburne and the CSIRO History Project. At the end of 2023 our colleague, Helen Wolff, will leave Swinburne and the CSIRO History Project team to focus on her archival work at Carey Baptist Grammar School. She was a member of our Management Committee from its inception and a supportive and enthusiastic colleague. She will be missed.

On 24 November 2022 (5.45pm), the Centre for Transformative Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology hosted an event at the Hawthorn Campus to celebrate the next phase in the life of the Encyclopedia.
