Summary
The Western Australia Division of the Geological Society of Australia is the state branch for members of the Society. Awards presented by the Division include the Gibb Maitland Medal for outstanding an substantial contributions to geoscience in Western Australia. Maitland was the Western Australian Government Geologist from 1896 to 1926. Publications of the Division include a monthly newsletters, and a series of excursion guides on Western Australian geology.
