Summary

Cyril Goodman, CBE BE FIEAust FIEE, was Chairman, The English Electric Company of Australia Pty Ltd.; Chairman, Electric Industries Advisory Committee, Defence Production; President, Australian Association of British Manufacturers; as well as being a Director of many other public companies.

In his early career, he was an electrical engineer with English Electric Co. Ltd. in England, 1919 - 1925, then in Victoria, 1924 - 1931; and later with Siemens (Australia) Pty. Ltd. in New South Wales.

He was active within the Institution of Engineers, Australia, was Chairman of the Sydney Division in 1944 and 1946, and was a Councillor from 1949 to 1956.

His distinguished community service was recognised when he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1960.
