Summary
The Gustav Nossal Medal for Global Health has been awarded by the Australian Academy of Science annually from 2015 to 2018, and thereafter biennially. It was established with philanthropic funds, for a 20-year period. The Medal is awarded to a mid-year researcher resident in Australia in the fields relevant to global health, particularly infectious diseases, nutrition and vaccine development. Gustav Nossal, a Fellow of the Academy, was renowned internationally for his significant contributions to fields of cellular immunology, antibody formation and tolerance, and vaccine research science.
