Association of Professional Engineers & Scientists, Australia (APESA) was established in 1991, through the merger of the Association of Professional Scientists of Australia (APSA) and the Association of Professional Engineers Australia (APEA).

In 1994 APESA merged with other professional unions to become the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA).
