Summary

The Clive and Vera Ramaciotti Foundation was established in 1970 by Vera Ramaciotti, using the proceeds realised from the sale of the Theatre Royal and other properties in Sydney left to Clive and Vera in the will of their father. Intended to provide substantial support for biomedical research particularly in the fields of molecular biology, genetics and immunology, the Foundation operates with a Scientific Advisory Committee and is managed by Perpetual Trustees. The first grants were made in 1971. The Foundation is regarded as one of the largest private contributors to biomedical research in Australia.
