Summary
Mark Bradford is a structural engineer noted for research which is focused on achieving sustainability in construction. His aims include using new materials to reduce carbon emissions, eliminating energy-intensive demolition, and promoting recycling, with the intention that sustainability should become integral to the design process. Bradford has been Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of New South Wales since 1998, being in addition Director of the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering and Safety. He also serves on a number of Standards Australia Committees related to building structures.
