Summary
John Love was an optical physicist who did pioneering research in fibre optics. For over 30 years he was at the Australian National University, ultimately becoming Emeritus Professor, specialising in wave photonics. Love was a keen supporter of the Australian Optical Society, of which he became a Life Member in 2009. The Society's John Love Award recognises innovations and technical advances in the field of optics.
