The John Booker Medal in Engineering Science is awarded annually by the Australian Academy of Science to recognise outstanding research in engineering mechanics and related fields within engineering and applied mathematics disciplines. It is an early-career award, normally given for work conducted while resident in Australia. The Medal commemorates John Robert Booker, a Fellow of the Academy, who worked in the area of theoretical geomechanics and was Professor in the Department of Civil and Mining Engineering at The University of Sydney from 1970 to 1998.
