Summary
The Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year is awarded annually by the Australian Government under the auspices of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (and its successors). It is one of seven Prizes awarded annually as the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science and recognises outstanding achievements in scientific research in the life sciences by an early career researcher. The Prize commemorates Frank Fenner who was Professor of Microbiology and Director of the John Curtin School of Medical Research from 1967. Until 2012 the Prize was styled the Science Minister's Prize for Life Scientist of the Year.
