Summary
A collaboration between the University of Queensland and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research the Australian Genome Research Facility (AGRF) was founded in 1997. Funding for the facility came from the Commonwealth Government's Major National Research Facility (MNRF) Program. AGRF conducts research in agriculture and biomedicine including projects to sequence the genomes of wheat, wallabies and melanoma's. AGRF has nodes around Australia in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Peth and Sydney.
