Summary
Sydney Angel was an enthusiastic butterfly collector whose 50-year career with the Commercial Bank of Australia in South Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania ended with his retirement in 1941. His collection of butterflies includes most species occurring in Tasmania. Angel collected with naturalists such as G. A. Waterhouse and A.J. Turner, as well as his brother Frank. The collection remains in the hands of descendants.
