Summary
Ernest Bickford moved from Victoria to Western Australia in 1894 to manage a furniture store and became an active participant in local natural history circles. He was the inaugural President of the Mueller Botanic Society (1897-1902) and later Councillor of the succeeding Western Australian Natural History Society. Bickford published a number of articles on the Western Australian flora. The plant collections he made in the Perth area apparently have not survived.
