Summary

The Adolph Basser Library at the Australian Academy of Science was established in 1960 and is named after Sir Adolph Basser, whose philanthropic gift enabled the establishment of the library. The Library collects both published and unpublished material relating to the history of Australian science. The Library has a large manuscript collection comprising papers from individual scientists, including a number of Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science, as well as scientific societies and other organisations.
