Mathematician Anthony Dennis Miller is the designer of software and algorithms that allowed for highly accurate and automated production of spectacle lenses. For this work he received the Sir Ian McLennan Achievement for Industry Award in 2000. At that time he was a research scientist with the CSIRO Division of Mathematical and Information Sciences.
