Summary
Derek Tribe was a foundation Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE) and founder of the Crawford Fund. The fund was designed to help develop national and international training and research programs to assist agricultural productivity throughout the world. Tribe joined the University of Melbourne in 1956 as a Reader in Agriculture and in 1969 was appointed Dean of the Faculty or Agriculture. During his long-term stay at the University he made major changes and improvements to the teaching and research in agriculture at the university.
