Summary
Leslie William Phillips was Superintendent of Technical Education in Western Australia from 1941 until ill health forced him to retire in 1948. After holding teaching positions in his home State of Victoria, Phillips took up a post as Assistant Lecturer in Chemistry at Perth Technical School (1920). There he received a grant from the Science and Industrial Endowment Fund to investigate toxic principles in common poison plants. Nine years later he was appointed Assistant Superintendent of Technical Education.
